Vol.1 [Southern Alps and Merino sheep]

Feb/2007 up

Merino is one of the sheep strain and its wool products such as underwear, jersey and etc are famous as a peculiarity of New Zealand. They are breathing, so they are great as thermal wear for trekking, too. Especially body fit T-shirts are awesome. I like them.
You would often meet with sheep stock on the road when you drive through country road around Canterbury and Otago area in South Island, NZ. I was so excited when I met with them on the road first time, becouse that has been one of my little dream. So far, it has happend to me more than 5 times for last 2 years and half, but I still get excited when it happens to me. This photo is taken by my hands shaking with deep emotion at my first experience of encounter with sheep stock.
I chose this photo as first one for this series,Picture of the week, as Remember your original intention.
