　ニュージーランドの中でも最も温暖な地域。観光客だけでなく、夏はオークランドから週末旅行を楽しみに来る人たちでも賑わう。フルーツの栽培も盛んな地域。

　　　I It is the warmest part of New Zealand.　Not only for tourists but also for those who are looking forward to weekend trips from Auckland in the summer.　An area where fruit cultivation is also popular.

Cape Reinga (ケープレインガ）		国道１号線の最北端。ランドマークである灯台の側に立ち、太平洋とタスマン海が交じり合う様を断崖絶壁越し眼下に眺めるのは快感。 The northernmost tip of Route 1. It is pleasant to stand on the side of the lighthouse which is a landmark, and see the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea crossing under the cliff.

90 mile beach (９０マイルビーチ）		その名のとおり、ビーチの長さが９０マイルあるとかないとか（実際は約６０マイル（９６ｋｍ）しかありません）。日本の九十九里浜みたいなものですかね。海岸には時速１００キロの交通標識が立っており、４ＷＤで爆走するもよし（但しレンタカーの乗り入れは禁止）。 Its name suggests that, the length of the beach is 90 miles or so (in fact only about 60 miles).Traffic signs of 100km/hr are standing on the coast and it is good to explode at 4 WD (however, running with rental car is prohibited).

Russell （ラッセル）		ＮＺのなかでも古い歴史を持つこの街。今は静かなリゾート地として名が知られているが、かつて1840年頃までは捕鯨者やアザラシ狩り猟師の居留置であった。半島の先端に位置している為、船でのアプローチが便利。船を下りたとたん、かすかに時間的異国の香りがする。 One of the histrical town in New Zealand. It is known as quiet resort now but it used be settlement of whale and furseal hunters untill 1840s. Russell is located the tip of peninsula so taking boat is quick way to get there. Once you take off the boat you would feel you have time travel.
