In the southern hemisphere

there is a long narrow north-south island nation











About 1000 years ago

the Maori people

who were the first inhabitants of these islands

when they first saw the land thought it looked like a cloud.

They called the land

"AOTEAROA"

This is now known as New Zealand.

Time runs slowly in this country.









This land is not big, but

there are many different kinds of topography

and scenery in this place.

This isolated land also has rare native animals and plants.

Some birds in this country such as Kiwi and Weka,

have degenerated, loosing their wings

because there were no mammals.

So they didn't have to fly to run away from enemies.







The birds have fogotten to fly and sometimes make their appearance

in front of us, and they enjoy walking for a while.



















It has been a short history since humans came here.

So there is still lots of wild nature in this country.










There are lots of mysterious places throughout this country,

You will feel you have been time travelling when you step into

these places












Perhaps you will feel you are visiting another world.









In the slow flowing time of the natural world,

the place where we can have a full realization of the fact

that we humans are a part of Mother Nature,

that is New Zealand.









For 1year and half from November 2002,

I met uncountable NATURAL BEAUTIES in this country.

I took photos of those scenes and special moments.

As an expression of my mind.











Throughout my travels,

I was able to feel the real beauty of the earth

with all of my body and mind.


Now I really want to tell everybody my feelings of my travels

and how much of a wonderful country this is.

So I made this site.
