　のんびりとした、美しいビーチが多いのがこの地域。サーファー達にも人気のエリア。この辺で最大の街、ギズボーンは、クック船長が18世紀に初めてこの国に上陸をしたという歴史的な場所。また、日付変更線にとても近いとあって、世界の中でも早い御来光が拝める場所の一つでもある。

　　　There are many beautiful beach around this area. It is also popular among surfers. Gisbone,the biggest town in this area, is a historical place where Captain Cook first landed n this country in the 18th century. .

Gisborn (ギスボーン）		初日の出を見ながらの初泳ぎに絶好の場所。水平線から真っ直ぐに上るまばゆいほどの朝日は一見の価値あり。 A great place for the first swim while watching the first sunrise.The dazzling morning orange coloured sun straight from the horizon is worth a visit.
